Computer Software Engineer's

The impact of computers on our lives means there is a need to develop new software. Computer software engineers apply computer science, engineering, and math to design, develop, and test software. (Computer hardware engineers design computer chips, boards, systems, modems, and printers.)

Software engineers first analyze users' needs. Then they design, construct, test, and maintain the needed software or systems. In programming, or coding, they tell a computer, line by line, how to function. They also solve any problems that arise. They must possess strong coding skills, but are more likely to develop algorithms and solve problems than write code.

Software engineers often work as part of a team that designs new hardware, software, and systems. A core team may have engineering, marketing, factory, and design people who work together until the product is done.

Computer applications software engineers design, construct, and maintain computer programs based on what people need. They can develop a program for just one person or for many people to use separately.

Famous Computer Engineer's

Raleigh, N.C. (AP) -- When John Cornwell graduated from Duke University last year, he landed a job as software engineer in Atlanta but soon found himself longing for his college lifestyle. So the engineering graduate built himself a reminder of life on campus: a refrigerator that can toss a can of beer to his couch with the click of a remote control.

Carnegie Mellon junior electrical and computer engineering Major Kermin Elliott Fleming has won the 2004 Jeopardy College Championship. Fleming defeated contestants from Dickinson College and Williams College in the two-day final round, held Nov. 23-24, to take home the $100,000 grand prize. Who plans to donate 10 percent of the winnings to his church and bank the rest for now, claims that the experience was one of the best of his life. "It was great. It was absolutely wonderful," he said. "I got to meet President George W. Bush once and that was cool. I don't know if this goes above that or not."

Advantages & disAdvantages:

I think the disadvantage of being a computer engineer is to connect the wires, sometimes the wires shocks some people and they get hurt.

Some advantages of being a computer engineer is that it can improve your logical reasoning as you may have to argue about which is best or flaws created in programs and hardware. It can also improve your ability to analyze patterns and flaws as well as improving your coordination as you handle installing hardware and creating software.

In some cases your social skills also will improve as you socialize with clients online or personally. Working in teams of computer engineers will help your social skills improve as you socialize with each other on flaws and upgrades and sometimes may have to cooperate to create the best program.

What is Computer Enginnering????

"Computer Engineering is the process of analyzing and designing all hardware, software, and operating systems for a computer system. Computer engineering is the combination of two fields: computer science and electrical engineering. Computer science and computer engineering are often confused as being the same, but these two fields differ greatly. While the responsibilities of computer scientists consist more of electrical and software engineering, computer engineers are also trained in software design and the integration of hardware and software."
